NEW HUDSON (WWJ) - Thanks to Friday night’s snow fall, it will be a day of wintry activities for the whole family at the first annual Lyon Township Winterfest celebration taking place in and around New Hudson and South Lyon on Saturday.
The Lyon Township Winterfest, which is open from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., will offer a variety of events, including sled dog rides.
The Mid-Union Sled Haulers (MUSH) will be on hand to give adventure seekers the authentic experience of being in a sled dog race for $5 per rider. And even if the snow runs out, that’s ok because Winterfest has an artificial snow machine just in case.
Families can also enjoy ice skating, figure skating demonstrations, a 5K snow race, hockey goal shoot off, an igloo building competition, snow golf and GPS treasure hunt. There’s also a kids activities with games, old-fashioned jump rope making and a Winter Animal Care Clinic.
